Online desk : A Dhaka court on Saturday placed arrested Sharmin Jahan, the owner of Aparajita International, on a three-day remand N95 masks scam.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mainul Islam granted the remand after DB police sought three day remand after producing her.
Sharmin, also a member of Awami League Central sub-Committee on Women and Children Affiars, was nabbed from city’s Shahbagh area around 10:30pm on friday following a case filed by the BSMMU.
On Thursday, Proctor Mozaffar Ahmed filed the case against Sharmin, Shahbag Police Station OC Abul Hasan confirmed.
The BSMMU started giving service to coronavirus patients on July 4. Aparajita International’s first and second lots mask supplied to them were flawless. But the masks those distributed on July 18 were found low quality.
The hospital authorities took masks from Aparajita International cost of Tk around 80-90 lakh.
