Online desk : Police on Monday arrested two person from Kuakata upazila of Patuakhali in a case filed for cutting submarine cable in Alipur area that caused disruption in internet connection.
The arrested persons are trader and a school teacher Abul Hossain alias Hossain Mollah and his business partner Abul Hossain. They both residents of Alipur area in the upazila.
Internet service across the country resumed at about 11.30pm on Sunday after repair of damage parts at Kukata submarine landing station, said Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company managing director Mashiur Rahman.
“It will take more few days to fully restore the internet connection,” he added.
Md Harun-ur-Rashid, security officer of the landing station, lodged a case against eight people with Mohipur Police Station on early Monday.
The submarine cable was cut in Alipur area on Sunday morning as few traders led by Abul Hossain Mollah were conducting construction works using excavator at a field.
