Allama Shafi has passed away at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital this evening. He is a veteran Qaumi Alem of the country holding the post of Muhtamim (Director General) of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Muinul Islam Hathazari Madrassah in Chattogram.
He had been suffering from old age complications as well as diabetes, high blood pressure and breathing difficulties for a long time.
