Human-chain against Mirkadim poura mayor formed in Dhaka

online desk ; A group of people from Mirkadim Municipality under Munsiganj district on Tuesday formed a human-chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka protesting the activities of its incumbent mayor Shahidul Islam Shahin.

The human-chain was formed under the banner of ‘Mirkadim Pouro Nagarik Samaj’ (MPNS).

MPNS general secretary and local ward councilor Abdul Jalil Matbar, Moniruzzaman Sharif, Jalal Matbar, Jillur Miah and Sumon Dewan spoke at the human-chain.

The speakers raised several allegations of torture and extortion against Shahidul Islam Shahin, and urged the government to take punitive measures against the mayor.
