Online desk ; With the deaths of 14 more people in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Wednesday, Bangladesh’s COVID-19 death count now stands at 7,833.
During this timeline, 890 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 5,24,910.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Wednesday afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 841 more recoveries over the preceding 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,69,522.
In the last 24 hours, 199 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 16,338 samples and tested 15,727.
With this, a total of 34,01,506 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, six were men and the rest eight were women. Of them, 10 are from Dhaka, two from Chattogram, and one form Khulna and Sylhet divisions each respectively. All of them died in the hospital except one who died in home.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
According to Worldometer’s COVID-19 data, the deadly virus has killed 19,72,464 people globally and infected 9,21,04,056 as of today afternoon.
