Online desk ; A group of drug peddlers were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 at Sahebpara area under Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj early Friday morning.
The arrested drug peddlers had been selling yaba pills in a unique way putting them inside mini dolls. They used to sell the yaba tablets among drug addicts in broad-daylight in guise of selling dolls.
RAB-11 arrested the seven drug peddlers of the group following a raid at Sahebpara at about 4:00am. During the raid, the RAB-11 members seized 18,000 yaba pills, Tk 9,000 received by selling drugs, and a huge quantity of toys from the possession of the arrested persons.
The arrested were Janu Maal (39), Ashraful (50), Raju Sardar (22), Islam Maal (32), Tahid Hossain (28), Shahidul Islam (28) and Sarat Ali.
RAB-11’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Suminur Rahman said all the detainees were the inhabitants of Louhajang police station area in Munshiganj district. They used to live in Narayanganj and adjoining areas renting temporary houses for the convenience of their drug business.
He said the arrested persons used to sell yaba pills putting them into dolls. They could go from one place to another place conveniently in guise of toy sellers.
A case was filed against the arrested persons with Siddhirganj Police Station.
