Biman Bandar Armed Police arrested them from a parking lot adjacent to No. 2 Agamani Terminal Outgate at the airport on Friday night.
The arrested persons were Md Kamal Parvez, 41, of Chouddagram, Cumilla and Md Faridul Alam, 50, of Lohagara in Chattogram.
After their arrest, they were taken to a room where they were questioned. As their talks were found suspicious, they were later taken to the office of Armed Police Battalion at the airport where they were searched.
Police said they found eight gold bars in a bag seized from Md Kamal Parvez. The gold bars weigh 928grams and cost Tk 56 lakh.
Besides, 268 grams of gold ornaments were seized from his possession. The ornaments included three bracelets, nine chains, one locket, two ear-rings, three rings, two necklaces etc. The market price of the gold ornaments was Tk 14 lakh.
Besides, three new iPhone 12 Pro (128 GB each), one used Samsung J7 Prime set, an used Nokia feature phone, Brac Bank’s chequebook etc. The market value of the goods seized from his possession was Tk 73,68,500.
On the other hand, four gold bars, weighing 464gm, were seized from Faridul Alam. Besides, gold ornaments which included 21 rings, 19 locket, 14 chains and cash Tk 7,300.
Besides, two cartons of Dunhill brand cigarettes, an used Samsung Galaxy S4 set,an used Samsung Galaxy J1 set, a power bank and cash Tk 7,300 were seized from Faridul Alam.
