Online desk ; Lying emphasis on investigative journalism for unmasking the truth, Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RPMP) Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Alim Mahmud has urged the journalists for making investigative reporting to unearth the reason behind the crime.
“Investigative reporting is very important to identify the reason behind crime and to curbing it,” he said.
He made the remark at a view exchange programme with journalists at the Rangpur Press Club auditorium on Monday. RPMP and Rangpur Press Club jointly organised the meeting titled ‘The role of police and media in controlling crime.’
Police are taking different initiatives, including awareness raising programme on social media, in order to control the crimes.
Presided over by Rangpur Press Club president Rashid Babu, general secretary Rafiqul Islam conducted the program.
RPMP Deputy Commissioner (CTSB) Abu Bakar Siddique, RPMP Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Abu Maruf Hossain, among others, spoke at the programme.
