Online desk : Six members of a professional mugger gang, including their leader Afsana Akter Esha alias Mim (22) have been arrested by police from the city’s Gulshan.
Members of the gang, wearing doctor’s aprons, putting masks on their faces and showing fake ID cards, entered houses in various areas of Dhaka city and used to steal belongings such as laptops and mobile phone sets.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan division deputy commissioner Md Ahad stated it at a press briefing held at DMP Media Center on Thursday morning.
He said Afsana and her accomplices have been stealing for a long time by entering flats in different posh areas of Dhaka including Gulshan, in guise of doctors and nurses.
Based on the information given by her, Gulshan police arrested her five associates from various areas of the capital. They were Tanmoy Biswas (30), Swapan Sheikh (45), Md Nurul Islam (27), Kalim Uddin Kalu alias Kaliullah (40) and Md Mokhleshur Rahman (51).
Police seized six laptops, 10 mobile phones and two bags from them.
