The critically injured were rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where they are now undergoing treatment.
The accident happened at about 7:00am on Friday at Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam Arakan Road (Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Road) at Bhora Breeze area under Khuniapalong union of Ramu upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station Anwarul Islam said a Teknaf-bound mini truck rammed a Cox’s Bazar-bound CNG-run autorickshaw from Palongkhali area of Ukhiya, leaving driver and two passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and another injured.
One of the deceased was identified as Badiul Alam, son of late Anu Mia Sawdagar of Rumkha Kolalpara under Haldia Palong union. He was a member of Cox’s Bazar Four-Stroke CNG Owners and Drivers Cooperative Association.
The injured were taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where another person succumbed to his injuries, he added.
He said police recovered the bodies and sent those to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue. The injured people were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical.
